Sticking brake caliper after winter – common?

My left front brake started dragging after the cold months, wheel gets hot after highway driving. Cleaned and lubed sliders last year, but it's back. Probably needs a full caliper rebuild or replacement? Looking for decent aftermarket ones that aren't too pricey for a 2015 Focus.

Yeah, winter salt and moisture kill calipers fast- pistons seize or sliders corrode even if you greased them. Rebuild kits help sometimes, but if the piston is pitted, better to replace the whole unit to avoid repeat issues. I had the same on my old hatchback and swapped to remanufactured/aftermarket calipers. Found a good selection including loaded ones (with pads already fitted) at https://elartcom.eu/categories/brake-calipers-4 - they have both sides, different brands, and options for many European cars. Picked a loaded caliper for the front left, arrived with bleed screws and brackets, installed easily in an afternoon. Braking balanced now, no more pulling or heat. Check their fitment list or enter your model- saved me from dealer prices and they've held up well through another winter so far.
